We lived on Magnetic Island for ten years and enjoyed being on one of the few Great Barrier Reef islands that has a postcode and a community. Three quarters of the island is national park. There are 23 beaches - almost all accessible - some (and one of our favourites Balding Bay) only accessible by foot or boat. Each day we took people snorkelling to Radical Bay or Florence and sometimes Arthur Bay on our beautiful gaff-rigged schooner Providence V. More about her below for those of you interested in sailing. Magnetic is all about 'island time' where - only 8kms from a city - you can relax and unwind. Whether bushwalking; spotting curlews or marvelling at the shapes in the granite boulders or strolling on the Picnic Bay jetty at dusk, Magnetic is about taking time out of a busy life and enjoying what life has to offer.

Offering an outdoor pool, Absolute Waterfront Magnetic Island studio is set in a five-star resort in Nelly Bay. Free private parking is available on site.

Absolute Waterfront Magnetic Island studio also includes a year-round outdoor pool. Guests can enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant. Breakfast, lunch and dinner available.

Bike hire and car hire are available at the property and the area is popular for golfing. The nearest airport is Townsville Airport, 14 km from Absolute Waterfront Magnetic Island studio. The island is only a 20-min ferry ride from Townsville with regular ferries every day.

If you would like to come and join us on Providence V - we are now in the Whitsundays. We offer daily sails to Whitehaven which includes Hill Inlet lookout and a snorkel on magnificent fringing reef. We also offer daily sunset sails with a complimentary glass of bubbles and nibbles to watch the sun going down on the ocean. If you've stayed at our apartment, please let us know and we offer a 10% discount on either of our sails.
